ETIAM, the secure medical networking company, introduces at RSNA 2012 seamless anywhere, anytime image review on any platform with the new zero-footprint ETIAM Viewer.  The universal web-based DICOM viewer runs  in PC, MAC, iPhone, iPad and Android environments and comes integrated into ETIAM-Connect, the company's groundbreaking cross-enterprise medical imaging platform.

ETIAM-Connect enables sites to accept, view and manage imaging data in any format and on any media from beyond the enterprise.  Now, with new ETIAM Viewer, the solution also provides the most sophisticated, convenient and flexible means of sharing data with users beyond its boundaries.

Based on HTML 5, the new viewer enables staff radiologists, referring physicians and patients to view images and imaging-related data rapidly and conveniently.  It provides simple-to-use viewing tools, such as a timeline for accessing prior images, zoom/pan/ window features line measurements and cine review.  Users can see corresponding reports and notes with a single click.  ETIAM Viewer also enables side-by-side image display for comparison and synchronization of a series.  The viewer also supports sticky notes and order information entry.  Its intuitive design minimizes training and enables rapid adoption.

To provide image access, referrers and patients are emailed a secure password-protected link that launches the viewer and displays the appropriate image from the provider's ETIAM Web-based exam sharing service.  If desired, users may download the image locally in a single click.

Radiologists and other staff physicians with appropriate permissions can directly access the new ETIAM zero-footprint viewer and their complete range of patient images from the provider's ETIAM Nexus module, also part of the ETIAM-Connect platform.

"ETIAM-Connect brought to the market the today's most sophisticated and comprehensive technology for viewing and managing outside images," says Julien Pellier, Product Manager for ETIAM-Connect. "Now, with the introduction of ETIAM Viewer, the platform is an easy-to-use, secure, end-to-end solution to communicate images that both enter the hospital or that need to be shared beyond its boundaries. A major trend in medicine is towards a more collaborative work style, and fast, reliable, flexible image sharing is an important part of that trend.  Sharing also can help cut healthcare costs by eliminating duplicate imaging exams."

Pellier also notes that ETIAM-Connect platform provides a comprehensive system not only to transfer imaging data but also to bring order to the thousands of external images that enter many facilities every day.  With the addition of new ETIAM Viewer, it also provides the most efficient and useful way send images where they need to go.  The result is more effective, efficient, secure and cost-effective care and the ability to finally put all images, whatever the original source, to meaningful use.
